But still, what we ended up having isn't too bad. The way it adapts from the game is interesting too, but they leave out a lot of important stuff to the game that could've made for more story opportunities, and add in characters and plots that felt like they could've been so much more. It's also a bit annoying that each season ends on a cliffhanger that get resolved in the next season's first episode, reducing the weight of these cliffhangers which could've affected the entire following season, and the second season's ending especially could've led to an amazing arc, though what they did with it in one episode was still good. Now these unconnected stories can be fun, but with how much of it feels like filler, it can really make the good stuff feel far and few between. Sadly, the show is more often than not focused on unconnected stories and slapstick rather than the rivalry between the cup brothers and the devil or character development. This is a fun show with eye candy for animation and ear biscuits for songs, and the episodes that focus on the story are among the best in the series.
